i've discussed with more than a few people lately how wanting to write and making the time to write doesn't necessarily translate into much more accomplished than posts like this. i mean this is fun and all, it keeps me more or less out of trouble, and when it's cold out i tend to find new places to sit and drink coffee that i hadn't known of or bothered with previously.

today i stumbled upon a place called 'snice in the west villiage at 8th avenue and west 4th street. red neon across the street beckons to the corner bistro, and i realize i can just barely remember the last time i was there, too many years ago. off to the left there's a red and green empire state building, never too far off, and and rarely close enough to see that a houlihan's restaurant somehow ended up on the ground floor.

it occurs to me i have no freaking idea what 'snice means, but it's a good place - clean, simple and 1/50th as full as the most empty of the 15 starbucks i saw today. that in itself is reason to come back.
